Vestibular Physiotherapy
Targeted treatment for dizziness, vertigo, BPPV, and post-concussion balance disorders. Our flagship specialty.
What is vestibular physiotherapy?
Vestibular physiotherapy is a specialized branch of physiotherapy. It treats dizziness, vertigo, imbalance, and the visual and cognitive symptoms that come with inner-ear and central balance disorders. Vestibular care is our flagship service at Omnicure.
Conditions we treat
- Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV). Brief spinning episodes triggered by head movement. Often resolves in 1 to 2 sessions with the Epley manoeuvre.
- Vestibular neuritis and labyrinthitis. Sudden-onset vertigo, nausea, and imbalance following a viral inner-ear inflammation.
- Post-concussion dizziness. Persistent dizziness, blurred vision, motion sensitivity, and brain fog after a concussion or whiplash.
- Persistent Postural-Perceptual Dizziness (PPPD). Chronic non-spinning dizziness made worse by visual motion and upright posture.
- Bilateral vestibular hypofunction. Loss of inner-ear function on both sides, often after ototoxic medication.
What to expect at your first session
A vestibular assessment takes 60 minutes. We:
- Take a full history of your dizziness: when it started, what triggers it, how it has changed.
- Run a focused neurological screen (eye movements, balance, gait, head impulses).
- Test for BPPV in each ear canal using positional manoeuvres.
- Treat what we can in the same session. Most BPPV resolves with the Epley or Semont manoeuvre on visit one.
- Send you home with a personalised exercise program if ongoing treatment is needed.
Same physiotherapist every session
You’ll see the same vestibular-trained physiotherapist from your first assessment to discharge. Continuity matters more in vestibular care than in any other physiotherapy specialty. Your therapist learns your particular pattern and adjusts in real time.
Direct billing
We bill CNESST and SAAQ directly. Most private insurance plans accept our receipts for reimbursement.
